Miles to Go

So to prove I am not completely ignoring the ‘Miles to Go’ series I thought I’d post a little snippet of my character development of Pike. This will not be in the story, ‘Holding Up the Sun,’ other then what I’m creating of his background and his voice that I’m sorta, kinda building from the ground up. I did the same thing with Primrose, but that never saw the light of day.

I blame the Rise Against song, ‘Savior’ and dana_chosenart  for the lovely artwork that’s been inspiring me for this series.

Once upon a time there was this stuck-up bitch. We’ll call her Summers, ‘cause the name Buffy makes me think two-bit porn star down on her luck, and yes, I got a tooth knocked loose when I informed her of those particular thoughts. As I was sayin’ once upon a’time there was Summers.

Summers who was blissfully happy with a handsome, upstanding guy. He was popular, she was popular and they probably would’ve married, procreated and had blissfully popular rugrats.

But then she met me.

And got called as a Slayer or some shit.

Either way Summers became tolerable and I found myself kinda falling for her. Did I mention she was hot? She was. In a midget sorta way. And I’ve got a rib that still eff’ing hurts when it’s cold ‘cause I might’ve told her she could petition ‘Bridget the Midget’ for her fan base at one point during our relationship. A relationship that was over before it began because, jackass that I am, I thought I slowed her down.

I thought I’d get her killed.

Well, she got killed anyways.

I loved her. Never told her. She died and I never told her.

If that isn’t a kick in the nuts.

Which Summers also did once.

Fuck I miss her.

I'm not sure how I feel about that. It's been awhile since I watched the movie, but I have a near violent dislike for Luke Perry.
♥ Me loves this! I never figured that you (or anyone) did this, but it's a really smart way to find the characters voice.

I'm glad you told me before who you've chosen for this part because damn, it fits like a snuggly glove! I love this :D Thanks for giving me something to enjoy while I wait for the big yummy price! :)

LMAO!!!! XD

Must get my hands on that song btw! :)

Also, I've been pondering, the way a fanvideomaker does, and from a lot of aspects I've found that Chad Kroeger's "Hero" fits kinda perfectly for Buffy in this series.

"I am so high, I can hear heaven. I am so high, I can hear heaven. Oh but heaven, no heaven don't hear me." To me that's the fact that she can hear Castiel, Anna etc, but God isn't listening. Much like for Dean and Sam.

"And they say that a hero can save us. I'm not gonna stand here and wait." Hero = Dean.

Maybe it's just me but the rest kinda fits as well imo.. idk, does it? :)

I started doing this with my original work to try and get a feel for my characters' voices and I thought it might work for the original characters (or almost original characters) in my fanfiction so I used it on the hell'verse and I think it worked nicely for Primrose so I continued it with Pike.

Ian is definitely the actor I picture in my head and I completely blame an image I found of him on the internet. Surprisingly in the image he's less attractive then usual and kinda scuzzy looking and that made me think 'Pike!' and that's how he got cast in my head.

Must get my hands on that song btw!

The song is fabulous. The opening lyrics just work for Pike and his head-space about Buffy.

The song, 'Hero,' definitely works for the series. I also have a soft spot for Josey Scott. :)
