reading, real life and movies

The subject pretty much sums up the last 30 days of my life.

Found out white footed black ants were colonizing my attic and now I have my pest service which I suppose is a good thing since it covers all insects that crawl - expect termites. I'm still debating the termite service because $600 is a lot of money to scrounge together on short notice. I might have to push it back a few months. Thankfully I don't have termites, but the bait currently set up around my home is as old as the house so the process needs to be done sooner rather than later.

I also am the proud owner of a Brazilian Pepper Tree. What is a Brazilian Pepper Tree you might ask? Well it's basically a giant freaking bush that is in the same family as Poison Ivy and Poison Oak which means you have to be incredibly careful removing these trees. They are also like Swartzenager's Terminator. They are a bitch to kill and there's a very really chance that 'they will be back.' Unfortunately, or fortunately, this tree is on the lot next to me so at this point I'm paying a lawn-service to just remove the section on my yard and poison it. I am also having the canopy raised (IE getting the limbs of the neighboring pine trees away from my roof). Thankfully the owner of the lawn-service does the lawns of the bank I work for and he knows me pretty well so he's assured me that he'll take care of me price wise. *crosses fingers*

On the reading front I just finished 'The Night Circus' by Erin Morgenstern and while it was odd I found myself enjoying it. There are a lot of characters to keep track of, but it's definitely an interesting read and I finished it in about two days. Now I'm on to 'American Gods' by Neil Gaiman. I've not yet read anything by him, but I have high hopes since I really enjoyed the episodes he wrote for Doctor Who. :)

I saw Captain America: Winter Soldier on Sunday (and I'll likely see it again this weekend). It had an interesting spy/espionage vibe going and they gave Scarlet Johanssen the ability to do something other than 'look hot and kick ass' which was a nice change of pace when compared to Iron Man 2 and Avengers. I won't offer any spoilers, but I greatly enjoyed it.
I have a lot of feelings about the new Captain America movie. SO MANY FEELINGS. I may have already seen it twice. Just maybe.
Same. Except they're mainly Martha centric because that's how my brian's been rolling lately.
Martha is a good place to be. Mine tend to always bee Buffy centric. It's where my brain always goes to first.
I shall indeed and feel free to return the favor if you get stuck. I'm currently only 600 words in and now reading a book on the fall of the Soviet Union. Apparently I like to research. ;)
